What is Certivus Pass?
In brief: The reusable consumer credential: what it is and how it changes your workflow.
Certivus Pass is the reusable consumer-side credential layered on top of Certivus. Instead of verifying a client from scratch every time, the client verifies once through us and then shares their verified Pass with any UK firm that accepts Certivus: accountancy, law, financial services.
Why it exists
Repeat identity verification is the single biggest source of client friction in UK regulated onboarding. A client signs up with three firms in a year and gets asked for passport + selfie + proof of address three times. With Certivus Pass:
- The client verifies once (~3 minutes, document + selfie + AML screen).
- The result is theirs to keep: a 12-month credential stored against their email.
- Sharing with a new firm is one click. The firm sees the verified fields they need (identity, sanctions, PEP, adverse media); the client controls the rest.
Nothing breaks. The existing one-off verification route stays available on client profiles. The Pass flow appears as a new card labelled "beta" on the client overview:
- Send Pass invite: one button, a dialog that prefills the client's email + name from the CRM record, choose Standard / Enhanced / Corporate tier, click send.
- Recent invites: every Pass invite you've sent to this client shows up below with status (Pending / Verified / Declined / Expired), pass number, GPG 45 confidence level.
- Resend + Cancel: one-click for pending invites. Cancel asks for confirmation; the link stops working immediately.
When the client completes verification:
- The firm gets a
pass_shareautomatically; you can see the verified identity on your dashboard the moment they finish. - The audit log gets a "Certivus Pass shared with firm" entry on the client's compliance file.
- The client is invited to "Save as a Certivus Pass": magic link signup, no password. If they save, they can re-share with other firms.
The three tiers
| Tier | Includes | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | UK ID document + selfie + AML screen (sanctions / PEP / adverse media) | Routine client onboarding |
| Enhanced | Standard + 12-month address history + ongoing AML monitoring | Higher-risk clients, EDD |
| Corporate | Enhanced + director + UBO verification | Business / company clients |
The tier you choose becomes the maximum confidence the issued Pass can reach. The actual confidence level depends on the evidence the client provides: a UK passport + clear AML hits Very High; a foreign ID with no address history may only hit Medium.
What you'll see in the audit log
Every Pass action on a client emits an entry under the "Certivus Pass" filter:
- Pass invite sent: when staff send a Pass invite
- Pass invite resent: when staff click resend on a pending invite
- Pass invite cancelled: when staff cancel a pending invite
- Certivus Pass shared with firm: when the client completes and the firm gets the share
Each entry includes the tier, the GPG 45 profile (e.g. "M2C"), the matter reference, and a link back to the Pass record.
Pricing (beta)
Pricing (beta)
During beta with our first cohort, Pass-side checks are billed at the same rate as the standard one-off verification route, with no premium. When Pass GA launches, per-acceptance pricing will be: £3 Standard / £5 Enhanced / £8 Corporate, with bundled allowances and free renewals.
The "Save as Pass" step at the end of verification is optional. Even if the client declines, the firm still gets the share; they got what they asked for. The credential just doesn't live on for re-use.
DVS Trust Framework
Certivus Pass is built to the UK Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework (DVS / UKDIATF). The GPG 45 mapping is the recognised scoring framework HMG uses for identity assurance, and the selective-disclosure consent model is what DVS Part 2 mandates. Independent certification audit is planned for Phase 3.
